Midway through painting the walls Grey Tweed.
The old owners had painted the cupboards so many times they hardly closed. Each of these times, not only failing to remove any hardware, but painting right over it. When we started the hinges looked like lumps on the front of the cupboards. With lots of paint stripper, fumes and scraping, we took off all of the hinges and doors and started from scratch. They definetly aren't perfect, but they are a hell of a lot better than before.

The old hinges and hardware from 1938.

The shiny new (old) hinges and new handles. The metal hinges makes all the difference.
Next up for the kitchen is new countertop on Saturday!
